DC Kupwara sanctions Rs 918024 relief for paddy blast affected farmers of Karnah

KUPWARA: Deputy Commisioner Kupwara Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray has sanctioned Rs 918024 as compensation for farmers who suffered losses to their agriculture crops due to rice blast disease attack during the month of October 2022.
As per a order No:- 20 DCK/Adm of 2023 dated 07-03 2023 issued by Deputy Commisioner Kupwara, a compensation of Rs 918024/ is sanctioned in favour of 721 affected farmers whose rice crops got damaged during the month of Oct 2022 in several villages of Tehsil Karnah.

Farmers suffered paddy losses due to rice blast disease (Pest) attack during the month of October 2022. Sub committee assessed the losses of paddy crops. Simultaneously district level committee verified the assesment of losses submitted by sub committee and claims were placed before the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). DDMA cleared the claims under SDRF norms on the basis of recommendations of SOP committee.
Accordingly sanction was accorded to release of funds amounting to Rs 918024/ for disbursing among the affected farmers whose rice crops got damaged under the major head Relief on account of natural calamity under sub major head State Response Relief Fund(SDRF).
Affected farmers of Karnah have hailed the timely efforts of Deputy Commisioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray.
