Jammu: While condemning and expressing serious concern over recent attacks on civilians in Kashmir including a former Panchayat member and a bank Security Guard namely Sanjay in district Pulwama of Kashmir division, All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference(AJKPC) has urged the government of India to take stringent action against the culprits and given them unprecedented punishment for their heinous acts against the humanity.

The AJKPC President alleged that Several District Police Officers( Districts SP) of Jammu zone have allotted Personal Security officers (PSOs) to the ineligible and insignificant leaders of the political parties and retired officers without even accessing any security threat to them and these people without facing any actual risk are using these PSOs as status symbol.
Sharma claimed that other than twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch most of the districts of Jammu division are peaceful but even there the district Superintends of Police have accorded PSOs to the retired officers and self claimed Netas without following any Standard operating procedure(SoP). Other than retired Officers and Netas, self acclaimed Social activists have also been provided the security cover without any actual risk.

The AJKPC President stated that recent attack on civilians in Kashmir division is a serious threat to national security therefore it is important that a thorough security audit is planned and executed.
He also appealed the J & K government to ensure safe and secure Amarnath Yatra 2023 and choose all the accommodation points for the Yatries keeping in view all the relevant factors into consideration. Stating that government must utilize the institutions of PRIs, AJKPC also offered its fullest support to the government in conducting peaceful Yatra 2023 of Sri Amarnath Shrine.
