Srinagar:Grand Warriors Academy of Martial Arts won six medals in various categories at the 3-Days J&K UT Pencak Silat Cup 2022 championship, which attracted more than 900 athletes from various clubs and districts in Jammu and Kashmir.

3-Days J&K UT Pencak Silat Cup 2022 was held at Indoor Sports Hall Polo ground, Srinagar. The event was organized by Pencak Silat Association of J&K in collaboration with J&K sports council under the banner of “My Youth My Pride”.

In the event, the 6-member team of Grand Warriors from Srinagar led by the team Coach Adil Hussain Khan, won 6 medals in different weight categories.

Grand Warriors coach Adil Hussain said, “I frequently heard about a few upsetting events involving young girls and even elderly women, which is the main motivation behind this martial arts school. Whether it was eve teasing or stalking, these occurrences inspired me to start a martial arts school where women could learn how to protect themselves from bullies.

I’m grateful to Mr. Rouf, the academy’s president, for providing us the space to teach martial arts in L. P. School, he added.

The Grand Warriors who won medals in the 3-Days J&K UT Pencak Silat Cup 2022 include, Shahid Hilal who bagged the gold medal, Muntaha and Rizwan took the Silver medal, while as Peer Naveed, Khushboo and Mohadis won the bronze medal.
