‘I write for the contentment of soul,’ says author of two books, Qurat Shah

Srinagar: Qurat Shah, a 23 years old writer authored her first book at a very tender age.
She has two books to her name besides co-authoring several anthologies.
Qurat Shah is from HMT area of Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar. Apart from her writing career, she is pursuing bachelor’s degree in law from University of Kashmir.
She wrote her first book in 2021 with the name of ‘Garden of Pain’. Her book namely ‘SINCE 90’s’ got published lately.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, Qurat said that ‘Since 90’s’ is her second book and is planning to write more in coming years.
‘I love writing as it’s rightly said that paper has more patience than people. I also believe that words are the most powerful weapon that one can have”, she added.
Shah doesn’t write for fame or publicity but what she believes for the contentment of her soul.
The book ‘Since 90’s’ is a collection of 6 fictional short stories based on real experiences, that encapsulate the agony, and angst faced by the Kashmiri people.
Qurat claims that this book will help the readers to get an idea of the situation going on in Kashmir for the last many decades.
“I’ve tried to keep the book short and language friendly so that not only the book readers but even commoners can read it easily, ” Qurat added.
