Indian army organised Volleyball Priemer Leauge 2021-22 in Drugmulla

Kupwara, March 17: Drugmulla Volleyball Priemer Leauge 2021-22 was conducted by Indian Army at Drugmulla Military Garrison from 21 Feb 22 to 16 Mar 22.

 

A total of 8 teams from panchayats of Drugmulla Block, Kupwara participated with full frevour and zeal.

 

The aim of the championship was to motivate youth to take part in sports, remain physically fit and inculcate sportsmanship spirit, camaraderie, competitive spirit, and promote sports activities among the youth of Drugmulla Block and foster the connect between Awam and Army.

 

The first round of championship was played on knock out basis after which four teams qualified for the semi-finals. The first semi-final was played between the teams of Drugmulla A and Drugmulla B, in which Drugmulla A emerged victorious. Andherama A won the second semi-final against Chailpatti and advanced to finals. Match for third position was played between Drugmulla B and Chailpatti which was won by Drugmulla B.

 

The tournament ended with final match played on 16 Mar 22 at Andherhama between Andherama A and Drugmulla A in which Andherama A won by 3-2. The winners, runners up and team which stood third were awarded with cash prize and trophy.

 

All matches were witnessed by large number of locals who were found cheering and motivating their respective teams.

 

The tournament was declared closed with prize distribution. The villagers of Drugmulla block expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts of Indian Army for conducting such a event which further strengthens the bond between local population and Indian Army.
