As part of the outreach initiative of Indian Army, an event was organised for the school children from Awoora and Gulgam in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District.
Indian Army’s Kupwara Terriers invited the local children from the villages of Awoora and Gulgam for a fun day out to Wayne Forest where several events were organised from games and display of weapons and equipment for children to learn about their army.
The event saw participation by *52* children between the ages of 08-14 from the villages, the children took keen interest in learning about the equipment of the army and also learnt about the process of joining the army. The children played games like carrom, 40 mtr sprint, tug of war and drawing competition. Prizes were given away to children who won in respective games. The children were served snacks and lunch post the event.
The children and elders who accompanied them, enjoyed the day out and appreciated the initiative of the Army and urged the company commander to organise more such events in the future to engage the children.
Indian Army is committed to creating a positive environment to guide the youth of Kupwara in a constructive direction.
