Srinagar: National General Secretary, Dulat Jan Jagirit Mission (DJJM) Suhail Mir has expressed sorrow and grief over loss of lives in Kishtawar accident Thursday evening.
In a statement, Suhail extended condolences to the victims’ families on loss of precious human lives and urged LG administration to provide ex-gratia relief to families immediately.
The DJJM national general secretary expressed serious concerns over the bad condition of roads in remote areas and upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, which often lead to such fatal accidents.
“Increasing number of road accidents are taking place in Jammu and Kashmir. Such brutal accidents snatch precious human lives and leave many even disabled for the rest of their lives,” said Suhail.
“I urge administration to keep special checking squads at least on major roads and take other necessary steps to stop such fatal accidents,” he added.
Earlier this evening at least six persons travelling in a Eco vehicle were killed after the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
