Kishtwar: Kishtwar district is developing as a centre of cultural, educational and tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorism in the area has shown a declining trend since the last few years. Alongwith the development scenario, a sense of normalcy is yielding in the region and the role of the Army towards bringing normalcy to the region is well appreciated by the local populace. To address aspirations of the your of Kishtwar, Indian Army conducted Pre Recruitment Training under Sadhbhavana Project with effect from 25 Nov 2021 to 03 February 2022.
The training was conducted for youth of the region with an aim of developing a sense of honour towards the Nation wherein they would further motivate others for joining the forces and serving the nation. A total of 60 candidates from various regions of Kishtwar attended the training. The training focused on imparting practical knowledge of various aspects of recruitment including documentation, physical test, medical tests and written examination.
The recruitment rallies of Indian Army and other belted forces will resume after suspension due to COVID-19 surge in the country. This initiative of Indian Army will assist the youth to be better prepared for recruitment rallies and enable them to approach the rallies with confidence. Apart from providing kit for physical practice the participants were provided with stationary and competitive books for cracking the written examinations.
In order to wean away the unemployed youth of the region from the separatist ideology and to bring them to the national mainstream, training and guidance for recruitment into various belted forces is the requirement of the day. The locals and youth expressed their gratitude towards the Army for the noble initiative and said that such activities help build bonds of strong friendship between Army and the Awaam especially the youth.
They also requested the Army to organize similar capsule courses in future for positive engagement of the youth of the region.
