Srinagar, Jan 18 : Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported three deaths and yet another big spike of 4,651 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 21,677.

With three more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,575 and 4,651 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 366,851.

Of the exact number of 366,851 cases, 230,089 are from Kashmir division and 136,762 from Jammu division.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 4,651 new cases, 3,105 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,546 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 230,089 including 214,245 recoveries and 2,347 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 136,762 including 126,354 recoveries and 2,228 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 21,677 including 13,497 from Kashmir division and 8,180 from Jammu division.

With 899 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 340,599 which is 92.84 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 957 from Srinagar, 633 from Baramulla, 411 from Budgam, 96 from Pulwama, 209 from Kupwara, 253 from Anantnag, 139 from Bandipora, 171 from Ganderbal, 215 from Kulgam and 21 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,546 from Jammu division include 919 from Jammu division, 184 from Udhampur, 74 from Rajouri, 49 from Doda, 94 from Kathua, 109 from Samba, 06 from Kishtwar, 18 from Poonch, 15 from Ramban and 78 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.

As per officials figures, 83,970 positive cases including 887 deaths and 78,377 recoveries are from Srinagar, 29,260 including 292 deaths and 25,861 recoveries are from Baramulla, 26,733 including 24,689 recoveries and 222 deaths are from Budgam, 16,190 including 15,620 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 15,908 including 170 deaths and 14,972 recoveries are from Kupwara, 17,857 including 16,563 recoveries and 211 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,900 cases including 10,125 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,346 including 10,977 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 12,247 including 11,500 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,678 including 5,561 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 60,199 including 54,163 recoveries and 1,174 deaths are from Jammu district, 12,474 including 11,503 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,791 including 11,213 recoveries and 240 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,302 including 7,957 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Doda, 10,131 including 9,436 recoveries and 156 deaths are from Kathua, 7,711 including 7,117 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 5,010 including 4,843 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,000 including 6,611 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Poonch, 6,230 including 6,081 recoveries and 68 deaths are from Ramban and 7,914 including 7,430 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 5,548,246 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 8,567 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 21,677 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 5,082,810 persons have completed the surveillance period and 430,617 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 20,435,004 samples are available. Out of 20,435,004 the number of samples tested negative stands at 20,068,153 while as 366,851 have tested positive, among them 21,677 persons are active, 340,599 persons have recovered and 4,575 persons have died—(KNO)
