INDIAN ARMY CELEBRATES 74TH ARMY DAY WITH YOUTH OF KUPWARA

Indian Army, Kupwara Terriers celebrated 74th Army Day, to commemorate the day, when Gen (later Field Marshal) K M Cariappa became the first Commander-in-Chief of Indian Armed Forces after

Independence, taking over the command of Armed Forces from Gen Sir

F R R Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief, in 1949.

 

On the occasion, Warsun and Gulgam company, Kupwara Terriers organized “Army Day Celebration” to showcase the capabilities and achievements of the Indian Army as also to motivate the youth for joining

the Armed Forces. The company Commanders Warsun & Gulgam companies interacted

with the youth and explained the significance of celebrating this day. The youth and the locals expressed their gratitude towards Indian Army for their relentless support and security rendered amid pandemic and otherwise.
