To commemorate the 50th Year of Glorious Victory of Indian Armed forces in 1971 War, the festivities took off in Rampur, Boniyar ( Baramulla) in a grand scale.

The two day gala event commenced with remembering the war heroes and Wreath laying ceremony at Pir Panjal Brigade War Memorial wherein SDM Uri DDC Boniyar, SDPO Uri, War Veterans and Army Officers paid homage to the fallen soldiers.

Thereafter the cultural program and celebrations commenced at Army Goodwill School Boniyar and Comunity centre, Bandi. Songs by the local music group imbued the atmosphere into the shades of patriotism and nationalistic fervor, students presented various cultural performances which accolades of the audiance.

The chilling weather was lit up when the Joint Pipe Band of Army and Students of AGS Boniyar took the stage and played military tunes which mesmerized everyone and left them awestruck and the celebrations reached it Zenith.

At the culmination of Day one of the event War Veterans and Veer naris were felicitated by the Army and Civil adm, the Veterans young at heart shared their experiences of 71 War of Liberation and urged the youth to follow their footsteps.

The locals await for another day filled of Enthusiasm on 17 Dec to express their gratitude towards Indian Army, Love for the Nation and rejoice the Victory over Pakistan Army.
