“Education is the most powerful weapon which one can use to change the world”, quoted & strongly advocated by Missile man of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. On 25 Oct 2021, Indian Army flagged off students from remote area of J&K who were selected for admission in prestigious Gen BC Joshi APS Pithoragarh under OP Sadhbhavana from far-flung areas of Kashmir valley at Kupwara. Such novel education oriented initiative will provide the students with an avenue to explore unparalleled exposure to not only quality education but also to learn and prosper in a diverse environment and inspire young minds to pursue path of progressive future.
The alumni of this school have achieved success in varied fields of life like Armed Forces, Indian Administrative Service, Medical and Engineering etc. These alumni are role model for all the students and worth emulating in life.
The proud parents and other audiences witnessed and enjoyed the ceremony which included cultural programme, distribution of kit items to all nominated students and singing of National Anthem. The event was graced by Cdr 8 Sect RR who also addressed the gathering and amplified the importance of education for progressive social reforms and nurturing new phase of Naya Kashmir.
The event terminated with flagging off of 29 students including 3 girls, who embarked on a 1272 KM journey to APS Pithoragarh in pursuit of their dreams and a bright future by Cdr 8 Sector RR. SSP Kupwara and Chief Education Officer, Kupwara were among the dignitaries who attended the event.
The total cost of education to include boarding and lodging charges for these children is being bone by the Indian Army and the Govt. A sense of accomplishment and hope for bright future was clearly evident on the faces of proud parents and young children
