The joint initiative of ‘J&K UT Rural Livelihood Mission’ and ‘Ministry of Rural Development’ (Govt of India) has been received well and was attended by 90 youth from Kupwara. In this program 17 male students were selected for resident courses in Srinagar and Hyderabad for hotel management program.
They will be provided free certified skill development and professional training. The candidates will also get necessary study material and stationary along with a tablet for the duration of the course. Hostel facilities will be provided including, free lodging and meals. Additional facilities will include travel allowance, soft skill training and uniforms.
On completion of the course successfully, the candidates will get a certificate from a nationally recognized university and guaranteed placement to help them become economically independent.
The Himayat Program has generated hope among locals, they recognized that programs like this will help the youngsters shun the path of violence and instead contribute constructively towards overall welfare of the state.
Kupwara Terriers (Indian Army) is always in the forefront of conducting such initiatives and aims to reach out to the local community in the remote areas near the LoC and integrate them with mainstream economy.
