SRINAGAR — Authorities in Kashmir valley snapped Mobile and Internet services across the valley on intervening night of Thursday after SAS Geelani passed away.
Pre-dawn communication blackout left many people in confusion on Thursday morning as they were unaware about the death of veteran Hurriyat leader.
A local when narrating the story told The Kashmiriyat that “My elder brother came and asked me whether my phone was working, I said no; I realised he didn’t know that SAS Geelani had passed away.”
“Then, I asked him whether he knew about the death of Hurriyat leader and surprisingly, he said no and then I told him that Mobile and Internet services have been snapped after his death,” he said.
When people came to know that BSNL sims were working, they started rushing towards BSNL customer care centres and started purchasing new BSNL Sim Cards. — (The Kashmiriyat)
