Jammu, July 08 : Following the drone activity and frequent air space violation activities by mysterious flying objects for the past few days, the district administration Jammu has declared Raj Bhawan and Civil Secretariat as ‘No Fly Zones’ and also banned the use of drone cameras during Lt Governor’s event in the district.

The development came two weeks after militants targeted Air Force Station, Jammu with twin blasts followed by drone activity over vital military installations in several areas of Jammu,

As per an order, issued by deputy commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Raj Bhawan and civil secretariat have been declared as ‘No Fly Zones’ in addition to the venues where the Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to visit for different events.

“In view of security threat posed due to recent trends of carrying out drone attacks by anti-national elements, it is imperative to initiate necessary security measures for ensuring the safety of air space over Raj Bhawan and civil secretariat, Jammu. Director, Special Security Force, J&K Srinagar vide communication No. SSF/CS/2021Gen/4620-22 dated 29-06-2021 has submitted that Raj Bhawan and civil secretariat, Jammu be declared as ‘No Fly Zone’ areas in view of daily commitments of Lt. Governor, UT of J&K vis-a-vis immense threat to him at the hands of anti-national elements,” the order reads.

It reads that the airspace over Raj Bhawan, Jammu and civil secretariat, Jammu has been declared as ”No Fly Zone” and flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) shall be strictly prohibited over and above these premises with immediate effect.

“There shall be complete prohibition on flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over all areas/venues in district Jammu as and when Lieutenant Governor is scheduled to visit in connection with holding of events,” it further reads.

It reads that since it is not possible to serve individual notices to all the persons concerned, this order is being passed ex-parte.

As per the order DC Jammu has asked the senior superintendent of Police, Jammu to ensure implementation of this order in letter and spirit—(KNO)
