When we talk about the development, the first thing that strikes our mind is education. For it is the only way using which we can amass qualitative and skillful minds to mold the affected state of society to better. Everyone has to research about him/herself that what clandestine lies inside him/her and that is possible only when we are really educated. Development in every factor, whether it may be social, political, economic development or any other, by hook or crook depends upon education. When we talk about Jammu and Kashmir, the field of education has become very wide, though the field provides good fruits but development is still a question mark. Population of J&K is estimated to be 1.50 crore in 2020 with overall literacy rate of 72%. In such literacy rate why there is a question mark(?) in development, who is responsible for the same?
Before asking the question to administration, let me first ask to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and to the parents of Jammu and Kashmir. Why do the parents educate their wards? Why do our youth educate themselves? What is the need of education? And how education is different from other life sectors and what is the magic educates are expected to bring? The question will be answered in a typical way that in future one desires to be a doctor, an engineer, an IAS , KAS , or a pilot etc. And surely, we get this education up to bars. Let me remind our society doesn’t require only doctors, engineers, IAS or KAS but our society welcomes entrepreneurs and those who can easily amass materialistic things. In short there are lots of blanks to be filled in the name of ambition even we don’t know them.
Even rapid increase in literacy rate we see, but unfortunately we’re are imprisoned in some particular field given that we have some fixed aims and fixed fields. We need to eliminate the borders that we already have fixed in our minds in comparison with our collective future, so that in future we may be considered amongst the developed regions. Such desired development will be best of its kind and not just papery. Administration too should take some responsible steps to overcome the situation. Students in schools from very beginning should be trained in a particular well framed way and skillful education should be provided, so that the culture of entrepreneurship, innovation and development could experience expected flows. When we talk about higher education in J&K, in average every year more than 2 lakh students take admission in different universities and colleges of other state for higher education. Billions of rupees from Jammu and Kashmir goes abroad every year. Imagine if administration will provide such platforms in Jammu and Kashmir, billions of rupees will be utilized within Jammu and Kashmir, the economic as well as educational graph will have a rapid flow and that will be the best step to eliminate unemployment. We need to rethink where young ones have been going to and what we should expect if the said dilemma continued! We just need reformation and a in-depth look into this essentially important sector of human life so that we prosper better in times to come.
