Doda, Apr 12: Two passengers earlier air-lifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu have succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll in the accident involving a mini-bus in Doda district of Jammu division to seven.
Officials told Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS) that the fresh deaths include that of Kali Begum (50) wife of Abdul Kareem of Pyakul Kahara and Sudesha Devi (40) wife of Mann Singh of Suhanda Shiva.
“Both the now-deceased persons were among the other fellow on-board injured passengers airlifted and admitted at GMC Jammu”, they said.
Three of other deceased have been identified as Yasir Hussain (26) son of Bashir Ahmad of Kahara and Shukur Din son of Abdul Aziz resident of Tanta Kahara, and Anju Devi (28) wife of Sunil Kumar of Sewa Chirala.
The official said among the injured passengers in the incident include; Tanveer Hussain son of Ali Hussain, resident of Cilly Malath, Abdul Latief (35) son of Mohammed Ibrahim, resident of Chilly, Ghulam Mohammed (60) son of Fateh Mohammed, resident of Gali and Prem Chand (60) son of Sant Ram, resident of Bajja Chirala.
Meanwhile, the rescue operations were going on, when this report is being filed. (GNS)
