Ganderbal ,:-Despite the continuous claims of the administration in taking strict action against encroachers, the shopkeepers and street vendors in main market of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district continue to occupy the footpaths and roads making the movement of vehicles and pedestrians difficult.

Locals said that the encroachers have randomly occupied footpaths leaving no space for the movement of pedestrians and the moving vehicles even on the main streets of the town
Even pedestrians are forced to walk on the main road as the footpaths have been occupied either by shopkeepers of roadside vendors, Bashir Ahamd a local resident said.
“Elderly people who depend on these footpaths have to walk on the road amid the heavy traffic, leading to accident pasting everyday ” said.
Meanwhile, the commuters sought the intervention of higher authorities for immediate removal of encroachers from the footpaths for smooth traffic movement in the town,
