The residents apprised him of issues faced by them such as restoration of recently demolished drain of Zabarwan Colony Wazbagh

On the occasion, Bhat assured that their genuine demands of people including waterlogging issues would be addressed, especially the up-gradation of drainage work in the area.

President Jamia Masjid Goripora Abdul Rashid Allayee and the people of the area also hailed the efforts of Bhat for taking a personal interest in mitigating their sufferings.

Bhat said although Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and District administration Srinagar had a good setup in place. They are active on the ground and are working in coordination for the welfare of the people.

“We have seen both SMC’s and administration work in recent rainfall, how they controlled the ground situation, rather than sitting in their cozy rooms. It is an appreciable job,” he said.

Bhat said water-logging and drainage issues in Hyderpora, including Zabarwan Colony Wazbagh areas should be resolved on priority and urged SMC Mayor and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to intervene, so that people will not suffer any more in the city,” he added.
