Kangan, Mar 12: Residents of Several village from Kangan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday complained that their area is without potable drinking water from last two Days while the concern department is paying no attention towards sufferings.
Talking to the Kashmir Glacier, the local villagers said that administration has failed to provide the basic facilities to the people. The villages facing acute water scarcity include Prang, Dragtungue, Chattergul, Chinnar.
They said that they have approached the authorities many times and received assurance of getting the regular water supply soon but no step has been taken by them in this matter so far.
They said due to inclement weather from last two days they are unable to receive water supply, we cannot afford to buy water purifier or other products which can purify this dirty water,” said Khateeb Ahmad, a local resident of Prang.
They said that whenever, there is little rain, water remains off for two to three days in the area.
Meanwhile, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Told Kashmir Glacier water supply will be restored at an earliest.
