Gunfight rages in Sopore outskirts

Sopore: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Tujjer area of north Kashmir’s Sopore on Tuesday evening.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that a Police launched a cordon and search operation in Tujjer village of Sopore after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
A senior police officer also confirmed this encounter to Kashmir Despatch and said firing from both sides is on.
