Budgam, Feb 20: Joint Forces launched a cordon and search operation in a Budgam village here in Central Kashmir.
Local sources said that soldiers from 53 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir laid a siege around Pethpora Mirpora village of Budgam and conducted search operation.
Locals told KNT that Joint Forces conducted door to door search operation and checked the identity cards thoroughly.
The Mirpora village falls in the sub-division Beerwah. Yesterday, a cop was killed while another sustained injuries after a brief faceoff between militants and Forces in Peth Zanigam area. Militants had managed to escape from the spot. (KNT)
