Cordon and Search Operation Launched in Shopian, Anantnag Areas



Anantnag: Amid snow, A cordon and search operation has been launched by Government Forces in Shopian District of South Kashmir.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday, the 34 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Bemnipora Armbagh Mohala Area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.

Following inputs about Militant movement in the area, the forces blocked all the entry and exit points of the area.

A door to door search operation had been launched when this report was filed.

Meanwhile another cordon and search operation launched by 19 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF is underway in Chontipora and Batagund areas of Verinag in south Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) area.
