Works Supervisor Suspended Over Alleged Dereliction of Duties in Anantnag; Enquiry Ordered

 

Srinagar, Jan 10: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag has placed under suspension Work Supervisor, PWD (R&B) Division Anantnag over alleged dereliction of duties.

An order in this regard, of which a copy lies with GNS, reads that “Pending enquiry into the alleged dereliction of duties, Sh. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Work Supervisor, PWD (R&B) Division, Anantnag is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and attached with Executive Engineer, R&B Division, Anantnag (sic.)”.

“Additional Deputy Commissioner(s) shall conduct the enquiry and furnish a detailed report within 5 days positively” the order reads further.

Pertinent to mention here that senior journalist Ahmad Ali Fayaz had sought intervention from Lieutenant Governor’s office into the alleged dereliction of duties by the (now) suspended official.

Pertinent to mention here that senior journalist Ahmad Ali Fayaz had tweeted about a resident of Uranhall (Anantnag) who was in need to carry his wife, a breast cancer patient, for scheduled treatment to Super Speciality Hospital at Shireen Bagh Srinagar. However road from his village to the highway was not cleared of clogged snow by concerned authorities despite repeated requests from the lady’s husband and assurances from district administration.

When nobody came to his rescue, he was forced to hire a private JCB which, according to Fayaz, charged him rupees 3000 to clear the road stretch from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm on Saturday.

It was only after that he was able to carry his wife by a vehicle to Srinagar where she got necessary treatment, Ahmad said.

In the meantime LG’s office took cognizance of the senior journalist’s viral tweet which followed by instructions of necessary action to DC Anantnag. (GNS)
