Budgam: The residents of Iqbalabad and Hussianabad in Beerwah Sub Division of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday staged a protest against acute water shortage in the village from past more than two months
The protestors staged a sit-in on vital Beerwah-Budgam road and blocked the vehicular movement.
Scores of vehicles were stranded on the road connecting hundreds of villages with district headquarters Budgam.
“We have to travel upto one kilometer to fetch drinking water. The department is not taking any cognizance of our repeated pleas.”
They appealed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Chief Engineer PHE to look into the matter and direct the concerned officials to ensure smooth water supply. (KNT)
