Police Rubbishes Claims of Sighting Lion in Baramulla Village

Srinagar, Nov 30: Baramulla police on Monday evening issued a statement regarding circulation of a ‘baseless’ video attributed to the sighting of a lion at Wanigam village in Kreeri area of the district.

The statement reads that “A fake video of lion in village at Wanigam Kreeri, Baramulla is in circulation on social media, which is base less.”

Urging the local populace not to pay heed to the video, the statement reads that the video is ‘fake’ even as there are only leopards and as such no lion population in Kashmir.

Legal action will be initiated against the person who are circulating this fake video, the statement reads further. (GNS)
