Polling concludes peacefully for Phase I DDC Elections & ULB/ Panchayat Bye-elections in Anantnag

 

43.32 % voting recorded for DDC polls

Anantnag Nov 28:Polling concluded peacefully for Phase I DDC Elections & ULB/ Panchayat Bye-elections for DDC seats Larnoo and Pahalgam, Sarpanch & Panch vacancies in these Blocks and vacancies in MC’s Pahalgam & Aishmuqam today here in Anantnag.

Out of the total electorate of 49185 for DDC seats Larnoo & Pahalgam 21309 voters exercised their franchise recording 43.32 % turnout. It may be pertinent to mention that 11 candidates were in fray for the two DDC seats.

ULB Bye elections were also held in MC’s of Aishmuqam & Pahalgam with a total turnout of 69.20%. A total of 1910 votes were polled out of 2760 electors in these MC’s. 35 candidates were in fray for vacancies in various Municipal Wards of these Municipal Committees.

Meanwhile Bye elections were held for panch, Sarpanch vacancies in the Blocks of Larnoo and Pahalgam.
