Covid-19: No letup in deaths, 10 more die; 431 test positive in J&K

 

 

Srinagar, Nov 24 : Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded ten deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,651 in the Union Territory while as 431 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 107,330 in J&K.

Of the exact number of 107,330 cases, 64,505 are from Kashmir and 42,825 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 431 new cases, 178 belong to Kashmir division while as 253 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 64,505 including 59,974 recoveries and 1,085 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 42,825 including 40,348 recoveries and 566 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,357 including 3,446 from Kashmir division and 1,911 from Jammu division.

With 495 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 100,322, which is 93.47 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 84 from Srinagar, 18 from Baramulla, 16 from Budgam, 19 from Pulwama, 14 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 07 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 253 from Jammu division include 122 from Jammu, 03 from Rajouri, 37 from Udhampur, 14 from Doda, 09 from Kathua, 11 from Poonch, 17 from Samba, 16 from Kishtwar, 18 from Ramban and 06 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours ten persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them six belong to Kashmir division and four to Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla, Shopian and Kulgam in Kashmir division and one each from Jammu, Udhampur, Doda, and Samba in Jammu division.

As per officials figures, 22,513 positive cases including 408 deaths and 20,724 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,277 including 160 deaths and 6,671 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,744 including 6,352 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Budgam, 5,016 including 4,768 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,090 including 81 deaths and 4,496 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,509 including 4,306 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,350 cases including 4,127 and 50 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,116 including 3,854 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,582 including 2,467 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,308 including 2,209 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 19,966 including 19,100 recoveries and 292 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,384 including 3,238 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,359 including 2,939 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,984 including 2,749 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Doda, 2,696 including 2,590 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kathua, 2,382 including 2,284 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,391 including 2,205 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Samba, 2,370 including 2,160 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,869 including 1,738 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,424 including 1,345 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 7771,134 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,528 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,357 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 695,860 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,738 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,856,746 samples are available.

Out of 2,856,746 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,749,416 while as 107,330 have tested positive, among them 5,357 persons are active, 100,322 persons have recovered and 1,651 persons have died—(KNO)
