2 day visit of Director Agriculture Jammu marks the interaction with the farmers of  Kishtwar

Director Agriculture Jammu Inder Jeet who was on 2 day inspectional visit at  Kishtwar interacted with the farmers of district and listened their grievances.
During his inspectional visit at the village Poochal, Bhera Bhatta and Matta of district Kishtwar he interacted with the farmers and listened their grievances related to the agriculture sector.
The farmers highlighted their demands regarding providing the irrigation facilities like borewells, micro irrigation for saffron crops like drip/sprinkler irrigation , providing of saffron corms and other pesticides for the grower on subsidized cost, inclusion of saffron crop under  PM Fasal Beema Yojana,payment of compensation for crops lost due to drought,etc
After listening patiently he assured them that their genuine demands will be fullfilled in time bound manner.
Director agriculture informed the farmers that department is going to  make provisions for marketing of the saffron outputs in the district besides the Geo mapping of the district specific crops like Rajamsh and saffron will be conducted for the effective production and marketing of the products.
He visited the saffron spice park and took stock of the various developmental works there.
Meanwhile he also visited the  experimental mushroom cultivation unit of Prof. Faisal Mushtaq Kichloo here in kishtwar.
It is pertinent to mention here that the purpose of this mushroom experimental unit is to promote awareness among the unemployed & educated youth of district kishtwar to adopt mushroom cultivation as their great carrier option.
Director agriculture jammu while interacting with Prof. Faisal Mushtaq felt extremely  delighted , praised his remarkable efforts & instructed him to assist the agriculture department of the  district  in achieving great heights in this field.
Onspot directions were given to the agriculture staff of district to establish one  training cum guidance  centre for kishtwar where  locals can be trained & educated for Mushroom cultivation as a great source of earning.
Director agriculture,Jammu was accompanied by District Saffron Development Officer,kishtwar Amjad Hussain Malik,SDAO paddar Sanjay Sharma ,SDAO Marwah Amarjeet sen, Agriculture extension officers kishtwar kishtwar Lorin kousar and  AEO Mughal maidan Arif Sirwal besides other officials.
Later he conducted a review meeting with the district/sub Divisional officers of the department and took stock of the achievements in the implementation of ongoing schemes meant for farmers.
