Drug peddler from South Kashmir visiting Srinagar to sell drugs apprehended by police

 

Srinagar, Oct 12: Police arrested a drug peddler here in Srinagar who hails from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A police official told KNT that a police party from Khanyar Police Station arrested a drug peddler and recovered 20 bottles of Codeine phosphate, a banned drug, from his possession.

He has been identified as Amir Gulzar Dar, a resident of Dar Mohalla Tulakhan Bijbihara.

The police official said that the accused had come to Srinagar to sell these drugs among youth of Srinagar city especially Khanyar area at exorbitant rates.

A formal FIR vide number 75/2020 under section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered against him at police station Khanyar.

The police official said that locals of the area have hailed the police action and are expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in future as well. (KNT)
