Activist Peer Tehleel Manzoor condemn arrest of former JNU researcher Umar Khalid

Srinagar: Social Activist Peer Tehleel Manzoor on Monday expressed solidarity with former JNU Student Leader Umar Khalid who was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)Act (UAPA) for his alleged role in the northeast Delhi riots.
He was arrested by the special cell of the Delhi Police late on Sunday night after 11 hours of interrogation. A Delhi court has sent him to police custody for 10 days in the case.
Condemning the arrest, activist Peer Tehleel Manzoor tweeted, “Delhi Police clearly targeting Muslim student activists. @UmarKhalidJNU has been arrested for a crime he never did.
Protest is not a crime. Being a muslim is not a crime”.
