South Kashmir: Gunfight rages in Pulwama


Srinagar, September 13:Gunfight breaks out between militants and government forces in Parigam area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.

According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Parigam.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

A senior police officer told GNS that the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants is underway in a orchard of Parigam.

As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.(GNS)
