Srinagar: As many as 161 Militants have been killed by the government during Anti Militancy operations till the month of August.
Ten Government Forces personnel have also been killed of joint security forces.
In Rajouri, an intruder was killed by the army, while terrorists shot and killed a BJP worker. Killed a punch from Khonmuh on the outskirts of Srinagar after being kidnapped. Three people, including a woman, were killed in cross-border firing.
According to available data, a total of six civilians were murdered in August. Among them, Abdul Hamid Najar, a BJP worker from Ompora Budgam, Khonmau Panch Nisar Bhat aka Cobra were killed. Those killed in the cross border firing include Muhammad Arif of Rangwar Kupwara, 65-year-old Sadiq Ahmed of Poonch and Muhammad Yakub Mir of Tangdar. 16 militants were killed in separate encounters in Karmajipora Pulwama, Kerry Baramulla, Mooli Chitragram Shopian, Ganupora Kralgund area of Handwara, Killura Shopian, Zadura Pulwama and Pantha Chowk in Srinagar .
The 10 joint security personnel martyred this month include 4 army personnel, 4 policemen and 2 para-soldiers. The top military commanders Azad Lalahari, Naseeruddin Lone, Sajad Hyder and Adil Hafiz have been killed this month . In this way, 161 terrorists were killed in the first 8 months of the year and we have lost 61 soldiers of the joint security forces.
