Srinagar, Aug 25: A massive rescue operation was launched on Tuesday afternoon after a boy drowned in Power Canal in Hariganiwan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a boy, 14, drowned in the power canal when he was taking a bath.
He said soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched by locals, SDRF and police. The officer identified the boy as Asif Ahmad Kassana, son of Muhammad Lateef Kassana of Hariganiwan.
