The people living in this world are of different views and ideology. Try to watch and study curiously the different Continents, Regions and countries of the world on global. You will get know there are so many people who worship idols, fire and trees. They are also creatures of almighty Allah. We are also human creatures. We are all human beings. But, Allah has bestowed upon us the faith that orders us to worship Him alone, we are born in Muslim families, are bestowed with good health, strength, man power, but above all the greatest blessing on us is that Allah has made us from amongst the followers of beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW).
“There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing” Holy Quran : Surah Al Bakarah verse (256-257).
Today’s world have been hit by the dreaded coronavirus that originated in China’s city Wuhan. According to a report 80% cases of deaths in china were found in people over 60 years of age. According to a report by World Health Organisation WHO, the virus infected the elderly with more than the young. So everyone seems to be frustrated and disturbed on all sides, everyone feels to have lost the precious lifetime. We do wonder why it is so ? Perhaps we have lost something , gallant and great that is ” peace” the peace of mind, the life line. The more we talk of peace, the more we lack it. Why it is so ? Perhaps so far as the facts go, it is not the scientific discoveries and inventions in themselves which incorporate the harm, but rather the materialistic and consumeristic approach and wrong conception of life. Wrong concept of wealth and work, which have disturbed the head and heart of man of today. To be clear the division of life into religions and secular has added fuel to the fire. This type of thinking has influenced the people of modern age largely. Materialism; the main cause of the elimination of peace of mind. Today’s man has become just like a machine which works and gets consumed and broken for ever. It has no control and no direction under the sway of materialistic thinking. In this way man has become inhuman which runs to bite everyone.
Why are we acting irrationally? only to show how rich we are and to show how much we have celebrated. we never realize that most of the people in our neighborhood rather in the whole Globe don’t even have one time food to eat well with children’s. We should not hurt the heart of a poor person by pretending.
If any one will be asked why he is engaged in service of business or agriculture or any other profession, his reply would be – for the sake of bread and to achieve peace to mind. Everyone in this universe struggle for peace of mind. Man has a mind to think and discovers the mysteries of nature. Man has higher ideas and Nobel ambitions, who can shake the globe and fly through the air. He can set foot on the proud head of the highest mountain, cross the deserts and land on the moon. But there is absence of only one thing in the life of modern man i.e peace of mind.
If our philosophy of life rises no higher than materialistic world we are not better than worms and brutes, who live to eat and not eat to live. Man has honour and respect and has his own dignity. He has to maintain his own dignity not to live for his stomach, but for his soul and spirit.
As a result man is seeing off the real wealth of human soul that is peace of mind. Without it the people with sufficient wealth, clothing, education are wandering and musing for something. They dream of mental peace.
“Peace” gives people a message of acceptance while “disturbance” gives a message of rejection. When people are rejected it makes them feel sad. With the passage of time this sadness grows into resentment, which swells into anger. When the anger cannot be contained, it bursts out in violence.
Peace requires us to be aware of each others needs. The family is the first classroom where we learnt peace. Test of peace are taken each and every day of one’s life. A peaceful person is like a tree with an abundance of fruits. Even when pelted with stiks and stones, the tree gives it’s fruit in return. Sometimes peace causes us to create distancing ourselves from people. We accept refugees and lepers as long as they are far way from us. This still creates a feeling of non-acceptance and is not true peace. No doubt peace is not the answer when you are called to tolerate wrong doing or deviations from truthfulness and clean living. As a young person growing up in a difficult world, it will be a challenge to you to know when to tolerate and when to speak out.
All people are the same where ever we go. But indeed there is the prejudices due to race, color, language, cast, economic background, country and nationality.
Islam declares a complete equality among all mankind, regardless of one’s faith, skin color, language, gender or ethnic background.
In the Quran, Chapter 49, Verse 13, it reads, “O mankind we have created you from one male and female and made you into nations and the tribes that you may know one another. Surely the most honorable among you with Allah is the one who is the most righteous. Verily Allah is all-knowing all aware.”
Prophet Muhammad stated in his farewell sermon, “O people. Your Lord is one and your father is one. (Adam) An Arab has no superiority over non-Arab, nor a non-Arab has any superiority over Arab, also white has no superiority over black nor does black have any superiority over white, except by piety and righteousness. All humans are from Adam and Adam is from dust.”
Once we accept humanity, we will be able to tolerate people and achieve peace of mind.
