As the international community presses for more freedom for minorities in Inia, a members of the Bhartiya Janta Party has made insulting remarks to the minority Muslim community ahead of Eid ul Adha, the eid if sacrifices.

Nand Kishore, a BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh asked Muslims to “sacrifice their children instead of animals”.

Ridiculing the medical recommendations, the MLA said that “meat spreads coronavirus” so people should not be allowed to sacrifice innocent animals.

“I will not let people eat meat and alcohol in Loni,” he said, adding, “We will not let people sacrifice innocent animals because meat spreads coronavirus”.

“We will stop those who will perform the ritual animal sacrifice. We will not let this happen in Lioni,” he said.
