Srinagar, July 24 : COVID19 claimed eight more lives in Kashmir division on Saturday, taking toll of total deaths related to COVID19 in union territory of Jammu and Kashmir to 308.
Officials said that eight patients who died due to virus include a 65-year-old lady from Safakadal Srinagar, 60-year-old man from Peerbagh Srinagar, 75-year-old man from Hakeembagh Rawalpora Srinagar, 72-year-old from Braen Nishat Srinagar, 48-year-old women from Kantbagh Baramulla, 65-year-old man from nowgam Bandipora, 65-year-old man from Nibripora Bandipora and 53-year-old from pampore area of district Pulwama.
An official from SMHS hhospitals said that a lady patient from Safakadal was admitted on 20 July with bilateral pneumonia and she tested positive for COVID19 on 22 July, sccumbed on Saturday wee hours.
An official from SKIMS told that Peerbagh patient was admitted on 18 July with multiple ailments died on Saturday morning.
He added that a patient from Rawalpora was admitted on 18 July, died in the hospital, he had tested positive for COVID19 on 17 July.
Regarding a lady from Kantbagh he said that she was admitted on 22 July with pneumonia and had test positive for the virus days before.
Elderly man from Braen Nishat was admitted in the Hospital on 20 July, with community acquired pneumonia, sccumbed on Saturday afternoon, Official added.
An official from JVC Bemina said that a patient from nowgam Bandipora was admitted in the hospital on 23 July,he had tested positive for COVID19 on 21 July.
Regarding a male from Nibripora Bandipora official sources at DH Bandipora said that the patient was at home with high viral load and was on life support at his residence, Later a team of doctors from DH Bandipora was sent to his home when the patient died at home.
His sample was taken posthumously which returned COVID19 positive, Sources added.
An official at CD Hospital said that pampore man was admitted on 24 July, sccumbed on Saturday evening.
With eight more deaths, the death toll related to COVID19 has reached to 308 in J&K including 286 from Kashmir division and 22 from Jammu division.
