Srinagar: Vice President Municipal Committee Watergam Baramulla, Meraj ud Din Malla was “kidnapped” by unidentified men from his home on Wednesday morning.

This comes days after a BJP leader and his two family members were killed in Bandipora. The political workers have been seeking security in Kashmir.

Locals told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that some unknown persons came Wednesday morning and kidnapped Meraj when from his home in North’s Kashmir Baramulla district.

“Before anybody could react, he was taken away,” locals said. It was not known immediately whether he belongs to any political party.

SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal said police has launched a manhunt to trace him. “We are looking into it who took him away,” he told KINS. (KINS)
