10 more COVID-19 deaths in JK, toll rises to 170

Srinagar, July 11(KINS): With ten more deaths on Saturday, COVID19 mortality in J&K reached 170.

An official told the news agency that five women among ten died of this virus on Saturday in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir include a 25-year-old woman from Hakura Ananthnag, 65-year-old woman from HabbaKadal Srinagar,70-year-old woman from Handwara village, a 70-year-old woman from Nunar Ganderbal, a 56-year-old woman from Shalimar Srinagar,77-year-old man from Hyderpora Srinagar, 45-year-old man from Kupwara district, 73-year-old man from Pattan, a Budgam resident and 55-year-old man from Jammu Division.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS Soura Professor Farooq told news agency KINS that a 77-year-old man from Hyderpora Srinagar died of this infection. He said the patient was a case of carcinoma urinary bladder and was admitted with bilateral Pneumonia with ARDS. “He was very cick and was on Ventilator ( Under Double Pressor Support) in IDB Block.,” he added.

Professor Jan said a 73-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla was a COPD with pancytopenia with B/L lung infiltrates. He said the Patient was covid positive and died on Saturday.

While sharing the details of other two patients who died due to COVID-19 at SKIMS, Professor Jan said a 70-year-old woman from Nunar Ganderbal was diagnosis B/ L CAP T1RF. The patient was in ward 2A died on 11-07-20 at 12:30 pm and result turned positive this evening he added.

Another patient a 56-year-old woman from Shalimar died on Saturday of this virus. The Patient was admitted on 06/07/20 and was known case of B/L CAP with HTN with DM, Professor Jan added.

Dr Nazir Choudhary, Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital told KINS that a 25-year-old woman, resident of Hakura Anantnag, died at the hospital. He said The woman (admitted to the hospital on July 3) had intracranial hemorrhage due to high blood pressure and she was put on ventilator and died last night,”.

Dr Choudhary said other three patients who died of this virus at the hospital include a 65-year-old woman from Habbakadal Srinagar, 70-year-old woman from Magam area of Handwara while the another one who died due to this virus on Saturday evening is a resident of B K Pora area of Budgam a male patient he added.

Dr Salim Tak, Medical Superintendent CD hospital told KINS a 45-year-old man from Kupwara district died here due to the virus. He said the patient was having hypertension, diabetes and bilateral pneumonia. The patient was on ventilato.

Meanwhile Jammu Division also reported fresh death a 55-year-old man from Bari Brahmana died at Government Medical College Jammu.

With these fresh ten COVID deaths, the toll rises to 170 in J&K, 154 people in Kashmir and 16 in Jammu division.(KINS)
