Pika Gun, Ammunition Recovered From Militant ‘Hideout’ In Poonch

Jammu, Jun 23: Security forces have ‘busted’ a hideout in Buffliaz sector of Poonch in Jammu division.

Official sources told GNS that a joint search operation launched by 16 RR and SOG Surankote in the area of Hill Kakka and Chotian Wali Dhok of Buffliaz led to the recovery of arms and ammunition from the area.

The recovered ammunition included one Pika Gun, 7.62 mm rounds and 222 cartridges.

Meanwhile confirming the recovery of the cache, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral told GNS that following the recovery, “the area has been cordoned off to avert any exigency.”

Earlier in the day, security forces claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Harwan forest area in Srinagar.

“One Magazine AK-47, 30 AK RSS and an UBGL alongside six UBGL grenades were recovered from site”, as per official sources. (GNS)
