A delegation of JKAHUC meet Advisor Baseer Khan

Srinagar: Sheikh Feroz, President JKAHUC in his address expressed concerns before Mr. Baseer khan regarding the present problems and difficulties faced by the Hajj Umrah Business Community. He briefed the situation post Abrogation of Article 370 and Crisis erupting during the present COVID19 Pandemic.
President JKAHUC explained the chair about the effects of lockdown on the hajj umrah business community and its ill fate post abrogation of article 370.
Sheikh Feroz Sahab discussed about the Financial Stress faced by the companies and how companies are forced towards bankruptcy and closures.
The Important Issues Raised were:
Insufficient Funds for Salary:
President explained the Advisor about the current financial stress faced by nearly 200 Hajj Umrah Companies. Companies are unable to meet the basic needs and demands due to low working capital. Not only they are unable to pay salaries but they are moving closer towards closures and bankruptcy.
On an average a company has approximately 10 employees with an average pay scale of INR 10,000/pm.
As a matter of fact, on an average if companies fail to provide salaries to its employees it will have an impact on nearly 2000 families.
No Special Loan or Financial Packages for the Hajj Umrah Sector
Another major concern briefed to Mr. Baseer Khan was about the poor availability of special financial assistance and financial schemes for Hajj Umrah Sector. Jenab Sheikh Feroz requested the authorities to consider the financial need of the sector and help the hajj umrah industry to survive in these turbulent days.
Insufficient Funds for Office Rents
Companies are facing hard time to meet there basic expenditures due to lockdowns, It has been noticed that apart from the UT of J&K, every other state has requested landlords to waive off the rent post Lockdown 1 I,e 22 March, 2020. No Such Statements or guidelines were issued in the UT of J&K.
Companies are stressing out due to the rising financial positions. It can not only lead to layoffs and losses, but can unfortunately turn into bankruptcies and closures.
*Mr. Baseer Khan Advisor Lieutenant Governor assured to put up the above issues for redressal before Lieutenant Governor of U.T. Of Jammu and Kashmir.
