LAC Border Row: Ladakh BJP MP hinted about border row with China, last year

Leh: The prominent Ladakh Member Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal on September last year said that New Delhi and Beijing need to sit down and properly define the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to avoid border skirmishes as the undefined border remains the major reason of rift between Indo-China.
Ladakh Member Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal described the tension along the border as “nothing serious”, the BJP MP from the Ladakh Union Territory said, “We should not worry too much about such developments.”
However the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has often witnessed skirmishes between the Indo-Sino forces of the two Asian giants on contradictory claims over the territory.
“The actual problem on our border is that the border is not defined properly because of which China feels one thing and we feel another. The actual line of control is not fixed and demarcated properly, because of which such troubles keep recurring,” said Namgyal.
It was also said that cows and other livestock do walk across the borders leading to some tension at the local level.
The BJP MP, who shot to national fame with a speech in the Lok Sabha supporting and appreciating the August 5 move of the Centre to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.
However the Ladakh MP lashed out on the Indian National Congress (INC) member Shri Rahul Gandhi over his statement on Chinese occupation in Ladakh, while responding to Gandhi’s comment the BJP MP on his twitter handle posted a picture, which reads as,
“Rahul Gandhi: Have Chinese occupied Indian Territory?
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal: Yes, Chinese Occupied Indian Territory as under:
• Aksai Chin (37244 sq km) in 1962 during Congress Regime.
• Tia Pangnak and Chabji valley (250km length) in Chimur area till 2008 during UPA time.
• Zorawar Fort in Demjok was destroyed by PLA in 2008 and setup PLA’s Observing Point in 2012 during UPA regime and also created Chinese /new Demjok/Colony with 13 cemented houses.
• India lost Doom Cheley (the ancient trade point) between Dungri and Demjok in 2008-2009 during UPA regime.”
The honourable MP from Ladakh said that under the Prime Ministership of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Chinese have not been able to claim any land since 2014 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power. (Kashmir Glacier)
