LAC, Ladakh Border Row: Ahead of talks, PLA shows disengagement in few areas of Eastern Ladakh

Ladakh: Ahead of next level of military talks between the Indo- China forces which are scheduled for the 10th of June, the Indo-Sino forces has started the process of mutual extrication in some areas of eastern Ladakh.
The Government sources revealed, the talks between the two armies are going to be held this week at multiple locations including Patroling point 14 (Galwan area), Patrolling point 15, and Hot Springs area.
The military level talks are going to be held in the ‘Hot Springs’ area of eastern Ladakh on Wednesday and that could be the reason why Chinese forces pulled back its forces from few areas, government sources said.
It was also said that a “significant” number of Chinese troops has withdrawn but there is no exact number. Except the fingers region in Pangong Tso, Chinese troops has started withdrawing 2 to 3 kms.
The sources privy to LT Media, said to reciprocate the Chinese disengagement, the Indian side also brought back some of its troops and vehicles from these areas.
However Indian forces are already in Chushul area in order to engage the Chinese for talks and are coordinating with the senior officials in this regard.
On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India wants a resolution of the decades-old border issue with China “as soon as possible”. He described as “positive” last week’s high-level military dialogue between the two sides on the face-off in eastern Ladakh. (Kashmir Glacier)
