Covid-19 Lockdown 5.0: Life remains crippled; Positive cases & deaths on rise due to Cov-19

Srinagar: The normal life has come to a grinding halt across Jammu and Kashmir for the nationwide lockdown 5.0, day 10 with all business establishments, schools shut while as public transport continues to remain off the roads.
The Jammu and Kashmir UT continues to witness a surge in the number of novel corona virus cases across Jammu and Kashmir even after imposition of lockdown for the containment of Covid-19 across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the last two days, the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has reported the highest single-day spikes in the number of positive cases and deaths due to novel Corona virus, more than two months after the first case was reported from the region.
The Jammu and Kashmir UT recorded five more COVID-19 deaths, including that of a CRPF trooper, taking the total number of fatalities in the Union Territory to 46, officials said on Monday.
The spike has been witnessed at a time when the administration has slowly begun to ease out the restrictions, however, health experts has warned that there can be a sudden explosion in the number of cases particularly in Kashmir valley.
Meanwhile the district administrations have not ended the lockdown, as easing of restrictions has resulted in people thronging to the markets and public spaces which is raising concerns.
Even the traffic on the roads has increased significantly although all public transport services have still not been allowed to operate.
After testing positive for the Cov-19, the Professor &HoD CD Hospital, Dr Naved Shah on his twitter handle said that, “So many positives detected each day.. where r v going to keep them… and their families/contacts … do v have to alter our strategy … testing and quarantine”
However, the Health Minister Mr. Harsh Vardhan says, “India is better positioned in the fight against COVID-19 compared to other nations,”but there is no space for complacency.” (Kashmir Glacier)
