DDC Budgam reviews functioning of MCs Amid Covid-19 pandemic

Principal incharge Quarantine centre placed under suspension for laxity in duty
Budgam: Amid Covid-19 pandemic arrangements and other measures put in place in all established quarantine centers across district, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza (KAS) in order to have an on spot assessment and status of the arrangements particularly steps taken to keep all quarantine centers in and around clean and garbage free, today visited many such quarantine centers. During the visit the DM ascertained and took feedback from the inmates about the facilities being provided to them.
Later the DM convened a meeting of EOs of all municipalities of District where in a detailed review was taken about the arrangements. The concerned EOs informed the meeting about ensuring cleanliness, lifting and dumping of garbage on daily basis from these centers.
While taking strong note of laxity found in some quarantine centers in maintaining cleanliness and haphazard spread of garbage, the DM categorically reiterated that such tardy & callous approach shall not be tolerated or disinterest from any officer or official of any status.
The DC said, responsibility assigned to any officer/official shall be delivered with dedication and honesty.
On showing reluctance in delivering responsibilities and dereliction of duty, the DM placed Principal Government Girls Hostel Budgam, incharge of a quarantine centre under suspension with immediate effect. He reiterated that, ‘‘In future my approach will be of same nature and all concerned shall take note of this”.
During the meeting the DC directed all EOs to remain mentally prepared in treating inmates at all quarantine centers well under cordial atmosphere, in addition ensure that sanitation in wake of Covid-19 pandemic is carried out twice on daily basis at all quarantine centers, install dustbins in and around all quarantine centers and ensure that no garbage of any kind, liquid or solid is left unattended. He said current engagements amid Covid-19 emergency shall be treated on priority, for this we collectively have to work efficiently and with dedication. The DM urged that fumigation and sanitization of all Red Zones shall be carried out efficiently.
The DM also took review of status of garbage dumping sites available in Distrct Budgam. In this regard, EO MC Magam sought intervention of DC to resolve issue at Magam concerning access to dumping site.
