Conservator Srinagar visits Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal

GANDERBAL(KG):-The Conservator of Forests Srinagar Circle today undertook extensive field touring to vulnerable forest blocks of Chattergul and Najwan of Sindh Forest Division, Ganderbal. He was accompanied by DFO Sindh and Deputy Director Forest Protection Force, RO HQrs, RO manasbal and staff.

During the visit the Conservator visited vulnerable compartments of Manasbal and Sindh range to take onspot stock of health of forests and gave various instructions for effective protection of forests.

Meanwhile, searches were also conducted in some houses of fringe areas to check for illegal stocking of forest produce.

In the view of the ongoing lockdown due to Covid-19, some miscreants are taking undue advantage of restricted movement of field staff and cause damage in some remote forest areas during night hours.

Taking strong view of various News reports, the PCCF J&K and Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir has issued strict instructions for reshuffle of field staff on account of any dereliction or negligence of duties.

The Conservator Srinagar has already issued orders for transfer of Block Officers in Sindh Division vide order no. 04 of 2020, dated 08-05-2020. Recently two vehicles with illicit timber have been seized.

FIRs have also being lodged by the DFO and Joint investigations by territorial and Forest Protection teams was ordered on spot.

During the visit, the onfield review was also taken of the works of sindh division to be carried out during this year.(KG)
