Month ahead of Daughter’s marriage, father loses house, other belongings in fire mishap

In an unfortunate incident, a man loses the house in a fire mishap a month ahead of daughter’s marriage in north Kashmir’s Baramulla outskirts on Sunday afternoon.

Reports reaching GNS said a residential house belonging to Manzoor Ahmed Mir resident of Cheradari Baramulla was completely damaged after a fire broke out in single storey house on Sunday afternoon.

As the fire tenders reached the spot the house was completely damaged reports added.

“I lost everything in the blaze and I don’t know how soon I will be back on my normal life, said Manzoor Ahmad house owner to news agency GNS over the phone,” adding that all the household goods were acquired after years of hard work but now everything is gone.

The victim said that next month his daughter was scheduled to get married but the tragic incident has shattered the dreams of the family. Not only household items, “I even lost my all earnings including the items which I had purchased for the marriage of my daughter,” he said.

Meanwhile, the affected family has requested the governor administration and all other concerned officials to come forward and to help them with compensation and other things.

A police officer also confirmed this fire mishap to GNS and said the cause of the fire was not immediately known. Officer said that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been initiated.
