Gunfight rattles kulgam village, Mobile internet snapped

Srinagar: Intense exchange of firing between militants and governments took place in Tazipora, Mohammadpora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Reports reaching GNS said that a joint operation was launched by 9 RR, SOG and CRPF in Tazipora Mohammadpora.

A senior police officer told GNS that as the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot and came closer to it, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering an fierce gunfight.

Meanwhile Mobile Internet was snapped in Kulgam as precautionary measures.

As this report was being filed by our Desk the exchange of firing was going on.

Earlier lights were installed near the encounter site and cordon was strengthened.
