High court takes suo-moto cognisance of Bandipora rape, directs IG Kashmir to file report by Friday

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Wednesday took suo moto cognisance of the alleged rape case of a minor girl in north Kashmir’s Sumbal area of district Bandipora.

The Chief Justice Gitta Mittal of High Court directed IGP Kashmir to submit a status report by Friday.

According to the reports the court observed that such horrific incidents are to be seriously dealt with and the children are to be protected from such gruesome & violent incidents.

A three year old girl was allegedly raped in north Kashmir’s Sumbal area of Bandipora district.

Kashmir valley has been on boil ever since the alleged rape of a minor girl in Bandipora. Scores of youth have been injured with one of them said to be critical.
