Missing Girl’s Dead Body Found In Power Project Dam In Uri

More than a month after she went missing, police has found the body of a 25-year-old girl from a power project dam in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.Reports reaching GNS said that some locals informed the police about the body lying in Uri-II Power Project Dam in Salamabad today late in the afternoon. “A police team immediately rushed to the area and recovered the semi-decomposed body”.

The deceased has been identified as Nazmina Bano (25) daughter of Ghulam Bhat of Nambla.

Bano, according to the locals was missing since April 3, last month.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the body has been taken to a hospital for all legal medico-formalities including the postmortem.

Apparently, it seems that the girl died due to drowning, the officer said.

“A case under section 174 CrPc has been registered and started further investigations to ascertain the actual cause of death,” the officer said.
